Body Corporate Pool Inspections | Swimming Pool Safety Certificates for Body Corporates

The Queensland Government has implemented and amended the Pool safety laws from 1st December 2010 new Queensland Pool Safety Laws apply to Body Corporate and Community Titles Schemes that have swimming pools with their property.

A pool safety inspection if:

One of the plot owners chooses to sell a unit or enters into a rental agreement with a new or existing tenant.
No settlement of the sale of a unit (with a pool) without a Certificate of Compliance can be made. In other words rent is not possible without risking fines or penalties.

There are “Phase-in” periods to get the certification, but there lies burden or the responsibility to complete disclosure documentation, in the Government-Prescribed form. But remember that you carry liability risks if a child drowns or faces any accident in a non-complying pool.

A Compliance Certificate remains valid for 12 months for a shared pool. And you may forget to renew it. Do not take risk to get finned for delays. Just call or register with Mrpoolinspector and everything will be our headache.
